Duty on the export of fur from the EAEU

We would like to draw your attention to the new additional export duties and to explain the specifics of their calculations.

On September 21, 2023, the Government of the Russian Federation approved the rates of export customs duties on groups of goods in its resolution. Among others, the document contains codes of the natural fur and the products made of it. Now both raw and dressed skins sold for export will be additionally charged up to 7% of the invoice amount.

According to the text of the resolution, the duty rate depends on the average exchange rate of the US dollar to the Russian rouble during the period when the transaction was carried out.

The rate will be 7% as of September–October 2023.

Please, pay attention that this rate is calculated basing on the full amount of the invoice on the date of the goods shipment. The rate will be included to the invoice with a possible adjustment on the date of shipment basing on the current value. The rate does not apply when goods are sold to the domestic market, as well as to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.

All invoices issued to this date remain unchanged.
